ChristianaCare’s longtime leader to retire. New CEO named

ChristianaCare’s longtime leader is leaving.

The health system on April 14, Dr. Announced that Janice Nevin will retire on September 1 and be replaced by new leadership. Nevin’s tenure at ChristianaCare dates back to 2002, with a series of leadership roles before being appointed president and CEO in 2014.

His successor will be Jenn Schwartz.

Schwartz was promoted to executive vice president of ChristianaCare in January after previously serving as both chief strategy officer and chief legal officer, according to the system.

ChristianaCare’s CEO and president since 2014, Dr. Janice Nevin retires on September 1, 2026. Nevin’s tenure at the health system dates back to 2002 and includes a number of leadership roles.

Since 2018, Schwartz has led ChristianaCare on initiatives focused on value-based care, clinical integration, partnerships, regional expansion and ambulatory growth. Prior to joining ChristianaCare, he served as vice president of legal affairs and general counsel for Lourdes Health System in New Jersey and general manager of the LHS Health Network Accountable Care Organization.

In a press release, Nevin described working at ChristianaCare and serving the community as the greatest honor of his career.

“Together, we have built an organization defined by love, excellence and an unwavering commitment to improving the health and well-being of those we are privileged to serve,” the statement said. “I am deeply grateful to our caregivers, partners, and neighbors for the trust they place in us every day.”
