Applications The fourth edition of CNBC’s World’s Best Fintech Companies list, produced in partnership with market research firm Statista, is now available.
Each year, CNBC and Statista list the top fintech players from around the world, from startups to Big Tech names, in segments including payments, asset technology, insurance and more.
Last year’s iteration featured heavyweights such as: MasterCardribbon and Visaand lots of new scaling. Credit rewards company Bilt, new payments startup TerraPay and insurance platform Entsia made the list for the first time.
The World’s Best Fintech Companies was expanded this year, making regulatory technology (companies that help others meet their financial regulatory obligations) its own segment.
Over the years, fintech has evolved from a high-growth rival segment to a core part of the global financial system, aided by the Covid-fuelled race to digitalisation. Artificial intelligence has further stimulated the industry and emerged as a source of transformative change.
The global fintech market attracted attention $44.7 billion invested in more than 2,200 deals in the first half of 2025, according to KPMG’s latest report, but that was lower than the $54.2 billion investment seen in the previous six months.

Companies can submit their information for evaluation to: click here. Developing innovative, technology-based financial products and services should be the core business of candidates.
The form offered by Statista includes questions about a company’s business model and certain key performance indicators, including revenue growth and number of employees.
