The East of England Ambulance Service confirmed one person was taken to hospital following emergency medical care.

They also confirmed that an air ambulance had landed at the scene.

In a statement, a spokesman said: “An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic car and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were dispatched to Church Walk, St Botolphs Street, this morning following reports of a person in a medical emergency.

“One patient in a serious condition was transported by road ambulance to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital.”
