Coleen Lamarre, mum of alleged killer, granted bail

The mother of alleged double murderer Beau Lamarre-Condon has been granted bail amid allegations she tried to influence a witness at her son’s upcoming trial.

Mr Lamarre-Condon, a former NSW police officer, has been charged with the murders of Channel 10 presenter Jesse Baird and Mr Baird’s boyfriend, Qantas flight attendant Luke Davies, and is awaiting a High Court trial set to begin later this year.

Coleen Lamarre, who was formerly of the NSW Police force, was arrested in April and charged with an act intended to pervert the course of justice and was remanded in custody.

The 63-year-old did not enter a plea.

In the Sydney Supreme Court on Tuesday, Ms Lamarre appeared from custody via AVL for a bail hearing.

He was released on conditional bail.

Family members who attended the bail hearing also took a deep breath when the decision was read.

Outside the court, defense lawyer John Walford said he had spoken to Ms Lamarre and she was “relieved”.

Her husband, meanwhile, made no comment to the pending media scrum and was later seen awaiting release at Sydney’s Dillwynia Prison.

He was later spotted by the media when he was released on Tuesday evening.

Mr Lamarre-Condon is accused of using his police firearm to kill Mr Baird and Mr Davies at a Paddington share house in Sydney’s inner east, then packing their bodies into surfboard bags and taking them to a remote property in the southern highlands of NSW.

The 30-year-old man was arrested in February 2024, four days after the bodies of Mr Baird and Mr Davies were found at a property near Goulburn.

Mr. Lamarre-Condon was charged with domestic violence-related murder and breaking and entering with intent to commit a criminal offense.

He has pleaded not guilty and will fight the charges at a trial scheduled to begin in September.
