Cyberabad Traffic Police Nab 407 Drunk Drivers in Weekend Special Drive

Hyderabad: Siberabad Traffic Police conducted a special drink driving enforcement campaign over the weekend during which 407 offenders were caught outside the commission limits. Most of the violations involved two-wheelers, with 290 cases; This was followed by 90 four-wheelers, 18 three-wheelers and 9 heavy vehicles.
Based on Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels, 354 offenders were found guilty with BAC ranging from 35 mg/100 ml to 200 mg/100 ml, 31 were found guilty with BAC between 201 mg/100 ml and 300 mg/100 ml, and 22 offenders recorded dangerously high levels between 301 mg/100 ml and 550 mg/100 ml. All criminals will be brought before the Supreme Court.
Cyberabad Police reiterated that drunk driving is a serious offense and warned that anyone who causes a fatal accident while under the influence of alcohol will be punished under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, which carries a maximum imprisonment of 10 years along with fine.
Meanwhile, a total of 385 drunk driving cases were heard in the courts during the week from December 8, 2025 to December 13, 2025. Of these, 16 people were given fines along with prison sentences, 21 people were given fines and social service sentences, while 348 people were given only fines.
