Cops seek alleged Oakville home invader known to use public transit

Halton Regional Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a home invasion robbery in Oakville.

Cops say on July 21 at around 9 a.m., the suspect entered the window of a residence in the area of Kerr St. and Speers Rd.

Police say once inside, the suspect confronted an adult resident with a knife while demanding cash A small amount of cash was provided and the suspect fled the residence.
The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
The suspect, who is known to use public transit, is described as a male in his early to mid-20s, with a heavy build, medium-length dark hair, wearing a long-sleeve black shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers.

ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS SOUGHT
Durham Regional Police are looking for two male suspects after an armed robbery in Whitby during an online marketplace transaction.
Cops responded to a robbery call on Tuesday at around 7:30 p.m. in the area of Winchester Road East and Queen Street.
Cops say the victim was selling a microphone on Facebook Marketplace and arranged to meet a potential buyer.
While the victim was talking with the suspect, another male suspect approached with a knife and grabbed the microphone. Both suspects ran southbound on St. Thomas St. and fled in a dark-coloured Acura SUV before police arrival.
Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects and no physical injuries were reported.

The first suspect is described as male, Black, 20 years old, standing 5-foot-9 with a slim build, having dreadlocks and was wearing a purple/black jacket, black track suit and white Nike running shoes.
The second suspect is described as a male, Black, 20 years old, wearing a blue medical mask, a black hooded sweater with a white emblem on the front and a large graphic on the back, black pants and white running shoes.
A photo of the suspect vehicle has been released.

East and Queen St. or St. Thomas St. between the hours of 7:10 and 7:25 p.m. on Tuesday is asked to contact Det. Const. POLICE IMPERSONATOR INVOLVED IN FRAUD CASE
Peel Police are seeking the public’s help regarding a fraud investigation involving the impersonation of a police officer in Brampton.
Cops say on Aug. 9, the victim provided personal information to a spam text they believed to be real.
Peel Police say at around 5:45 p.m., the victim was contacted by a male party who advised that he was a Toronto Police undercover officer and that there had been fraudulent activity on their account.
Authorities say a short time later, two suspects showed up at the victim’s residence in the area of Finegan Circle in a black SUV and the victim provided the suspects with their bank cards and subsequently had $15,000 taken from her account after they left.

The suspects did not provide any police identification to the victim.
The driver of the suspect vehicle is described as male, South Asian, 36-38 years old, with short black hair, heavy build, wearing a checkered dress shirt.
The passenger is described as a male South Asian.
The suspect vehicle is described as a new black four-door Mitsubishi SUV. Inside the vehicle was a working computer situated between the driver and passenger seats with a police sticker attached.

HAMILTON OFFICER CHARGED
Hamilton Police have charged one of their own in a historic domestic incident.
Cops say a 17-year member of the Hamilton Police Service has been charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.
The 46-year-old member will appear in court on September 11, 2025.
