A YouTuber known for documenting true crimes has revealed that he came across one of the “darkest” cases he has ever investigated; A few aspects were too upsetting for him to share. Adrian Stewart runs Coffeehouse Crime, an impressive channel with 2.9 million subscribers following his weekly videos examining the world’s most disturbing cases.

But its latest episode is ‘Tennessee’s House of Secrets – America’s Scariest Case?’ It was particularly disturbing.

In the description of the video, he wrote: “The murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom are one of the most horrific stories I have covered. Their killers were not only barbaric, but also extraordinarily brazen in their decisions.”

Channon, 21, and Christopher, 23, had been in a relationship for three months when their lives were tragically cut short.

They lived in Knoxville, Tennessee, where Channon was studying sociology. He lived with his parents and older brother and was described as cheerful and outgoing. Her boyfriend earned his living as a carpenter and was considered an easy-going, avid baseball fan.

The young couple disappeared on the evening of January 6, 2007. They had planned to have dinner together before meeting their friends at a party, but they never showed up. Neither could be reached the next morning, and their deeply concerned families reported them missing. Both of their cell phones were turned off, and Channon did not show up for work as expected.

But just a day after the pair disappeared, a worker made a deeply disturbing discovery on a railroad track near Chipman.

Murder

This turned out to be the naked body of Christopher, who had been raped, shot in the back, and set on fire. His hands were tied and his clothes were wrapped around his head and secured with shoelaces.

Christopher’s remains were in such poor condition that his distraught parents were advised not to view them; This meant they could only embrace the body bag.

While it was nearly impossible to understand the grim discovery, which left some officers subsequently needing therapy, one pressing question remained: Where was his girlfriend, Channon?

Tragically, that question was only answered two days later when officers found his body in a bin at a property with a for sale sign outside.

An autopsy report later revealed that the woman was wrapped in plastic bags and thrown in the trash while she was still alive.

Following the discovery of his abandoned vehicle, police led to his body after uncovering fingerprints belonging to Lemaricus Davidson. Her remains were found near Davidson’s home, and other suspects were later identified, including his brother Letalvis Cobbins and his partner George Thomas. A fourth suspect, Eric Boyd, was captured before Vanessa Coleman, who was later involved with Cobbins, became a suspect.

The investigation eventually revealed that Channon and Christopher had been carjacked and kidnapped before being raped, tortured and murdered.

Christopher was shot and set on fire as he was taken across a series of railway lines, while his partner endured two days of horrific torture.

The above-mentioned people beat her multiple times, tied her to a chair, and sexually assaulted her. They also poured bleach on his body while he was conscious, then wrapped bags around him and forced him into the trash can. He eventually drowned and died.

Speaking to subscribers, Adrian said: “I must say these details push the boundaries of this case beyond anything I have covered before. “What these five monsters did to Channon and Christopher was cruel, degrading and completely inhumane.

“And all of this was done against two people who had never wronged any of them. I think this case still makes people so angry because Channon and Chris weren’t just murdered. They were humiliated, tortured, and literally treated like garbage.”

Justice

It was later revealed that Davidson, Cobbins, Boyd, and Thomas transported Christopher to the railroad tracks where he was killed.

This came after he was sexually assaulted in a house where he and his girlfriend were taken against their will. In the early hours, he was forced into a car, gagged, blindfolded and restrained with a dog chain and leash around his neck, before being brought onto the tracks.

Thomas fired first, the shot hitting Christopher in the neck, followed by a second bullet hitting his back. Davidson then fired a third shot, striking the victim in the head, before the attackers poured gasoline on the victim and set him on fire.

The group then returned to the house, where Channon suffered a ruptured membrane in her mouth after being verbally raped by Cobbins. She was further raped by Davidson before the perpetrators tried to destroy the evidence using bleach.

The case resulted in numerous hearings and rehearings; Davidson, Cobbins and Thomas were convicted of multiple charges, including murder. Davidson, believed to be the ringleader, was sentenced to death, while the others were sentenced to life imprisonment.

Boyd was later convicted of murder, robbery, kidnapping and rape-related charges and sentenced to two life sentences.

Coleman was sentenced to 53 years in prison for his role in Channon’s death. He stayed with Channon while the others took Christopher to the tracks. Later, in the retrial, it was seen that his sentence was reduced to 35 years.
