Courteney Cox separates from Snow Patrol star Johnny McDaid after more than a decade together – and he is already dating someone else

Friends star Courteney Cox has quietly split from her long-term partner, Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid, The Mail on Sunday has revealed.
The A-list couple, who have been together for more than a decade and were briefly engaged, are understood to have gone their separate ways late last year.
The split is said to be entirely amicable, and friends of the couple told The Mail on Sunday that they had reached a point where they were living “different lives”.
Cox, the 62-year-old actress known to millions for her iconic role as Monica Geller on the ’90s sitcom Friends, lives in Los Angeles; McDaid, 49, who was born in Northern Ireland, lives mostly in London, although the couple tended to split their time between the US and UK.
Confirming their split, a friend said: ‘Johnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney. They had a very deep relationship and remain extremely friendly. They are great friends and care about each other very much.
‘This wasn’t an ugly split. ‘They had reached a point where they were living different lives.’
Cox and McDaid, who have become some of the world’s most successful behind-the-scenes songwriters, began dating in 2013 after meeting through mutual friends, including Ed Sheeran.
McDaid is one of Sheeran’s long-time friends and collaborators and has co-written some of his biggest hits, including Shape Of You, Photograph, Galway Girl, Bad Habits and Shivers.

She and Cox announced their engagement the following year, and although they briefly split in late 2015, they reconciled in 2016 and have been together ever since.
Cox has said in interviews that she is ‘thankful’ for the breakup because it made their relationship even better. McDaid also talked about how ‘lucky’ he feels to be in a relationship with the actor.
The couple was spotted on a double date with Cox’s Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston and her boyfriend, wellness expert Jim Curtis, in Malibu, California, last August.
They were last photographed together at the US Open in September.
Since the split, both Cox and McDaid are said to have moved on with their lives.
It appears McDaid is in the early stages of a new relationship.
Meanwhile, Cox was recently spotted in New York with her Shining Vale co-star Greg Kinnear, who was staying at his home. Despite playing husband and wife in the satirical horror comedy, the duo confirmed that they are just good friends.
She also remained close to her ex-husband David Arquette, with whom she shares daughter Coco, and friends say the ex-couple have long been a strong and friendly co-parenting team.
