CPI(M) files complaint against individuals spreading fake news

A complaint has been filed at Ernakulam Central police station by CPI(M) Ernakulam district secretariat member KS Arun Kumar against people who are spreading lies attributed to CPI(M) External Affairs Minister MV Govindan using his picture.

Lies about the government’s free travel scheme in KSRTC buses. Mr. Arunkumar said the statements attributed to Mr. Govindan that CPI(M) women will not accept any assistance from the government and will travel in buses only after paying for their tickets are false and baseless.

Kavitha Suresh filed a complaint against the social media profiles of Tomy Verananickal and Jils Gils that they created fake news and publicized it through social media. He sought urgent steps to stop the spread of such lies and demanded legal action against these persons under BNS provisions.
