Crimes against women, children, and the elderly on the rise in the State: Nainar Nagenthran

Nainar Nagenthran, president of BJP Tamil Nadu.

BJP State President Nainar Nagenthran on Tuesday claimed that incidents of killings of senior citizens and crimes against women and children have increased significantly under the DMK regime. He believed that the main reason for the increase in such criminal activities was the “increased spread of narcotic drugs”.

Addressing a campaign meeting in Tambaram, Mr. Nagenthran said law and order in Tamil Nadu had deteriorated under the DMK rule. He also questioned why Chief Minister MK Stalin, who immediately visited Karur to meet the families of the victims of the stampede that killed 41 people during a rally by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president on September 27, did not visit Kallakurichi immediately after the hooch tragedy that killed 68 people last year.

Listing out various schemes and infrastructure projects implemented by the Union government for the development of Chengalpattu district, Mr. Nagenthran alleged that the DMK government had done little for the development of the district. The official added that the National Democratic Alliance will remove the DMK from power in the 2026 Assembly elections.
