According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad centre, Telangana is unlikely to see any significant impact from Cyclone Ditwah developing in the Bay of Bengal. The system is expected to be slow moving and will mainly affect northern Tamil Nadu and southern coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to The Hindu, IMD Hyderabad Center Scientist Dharma Raju said Telangana will receive only minimal weather activity as the cyclone approaches. Light rain is expected in the southern parts of the state on Sunday, November 30, 2025, followed by isolated heavy rain in four districts namely Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet and Nagarkurnool on December 1.

“The cyclonic system is currently moving at a speed of around 8 kilometers per hour, which has reduced the possibility of a stronger impact over Telangana. IMD expects north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh to receive comparatively higher rainfall due to their proximity to the system’s path,” Mr. Raju said.

He also added that rainfall activity is expected to decrease after December 1. Light showers may occur on December 2, after which conditions will turn dry across the state.

Over the next 48 hours, Hyderabad and surrounding areas will experience generally cloudy weather. “There are high chances of light rain or drizzle in some parts of the city. Fog or misty conditions will prevail in the morning hours. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 29°C and 15°C respectively,” an IMD bulletin said.
