Man Ends Life at Gandhi Hospital

Hyderabad: A 37-year-old patient, who survived the attempt to end his life and was under treatment, died by suicide at Gandhi Hospital on Monday. Welder Pappula Narender died at the scene.
According to Chilkalguda station house officer B. Anudeep, Narender was a native of Vangapalli in Yadagirigutta. Police said the man was facing financial problems and mounting bank debts. He reportedly attempted to die by suicide on December 1 after being pressured to repay his loans. His family had shifted him to Gandhi Hospital.
Police said Narender told his wife and family members that he would die by suicide. He is survived by his wife, Pappula Lavanya, with whom he has two children under the age of four.
Man who refused to marry killed underage child
Hyderabad:Warasiguda police said a 23-year-old man killed a 17-year-old girl in front of her mother at her home after she rejected her parents’ marriage proposal. Uma Shankar attacked the victim with a knife at his home in Bapujinagar at 1.30 pm.
Police said he initially asked his parents to allow their younger daughter to marry him. When they refused, he attacked the girl even as her mother begged him to spare her daughter.
The parents hail from Srikakulam district and work as masons; The victim is an intermediate student. Their names are being kept confidential to protect the minor’s identity.
Police said parents turned Rehamathnagar resident Uma Shankar away because she was unemployed and constantly drunk. Police said they noticed in the CCTV footage that the man was running away towards Secunderabad. “Our teams have been deployed at all railway and bus stations,” said Chilkalguda ACP K. Shashank Reddy.
The victim’s aunt said that they stopped the little boy from going to college due to threats from Uma Shankar. The family had gone to Vijayawada last week and Shankar had threatened and harassed the victim for leaving without informing him.
Men Detained While Looting at Army Veteran’s Home
Hyderabad:The northern zone task force and Karkhana police arrested persons who attacked Army veteran 75-year-old Captain DK Giri (Retd) and looted his house in Gunrock Enclave on the night of November 15-16.
Police said the gang of Nepalese nationals discussed the plot at the house of their associate Puran Singh, a former employee of senior senior task force DCP Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath. They burst into the veteran’s home, tied his hands and legs to a chair, attacked him, and stole his jewelry and money. They split into groups, left Hyderabad and switched off their phones. The value of the loot was determined as 23 tolas of gold jewelery and 95,000 in cash.
The accused were identified as Raj Bahadur Shahi and his associates Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, Gorkhe Bahadur Kamee, Amit Bisukarma and Subhash Tamata; all of them work as security guards and are natives of Ghatgaon, Surkhet, Nepal.
Rekha Devi Ral, Umesh Shahi, Upendra Shahi and five others from Nepal are fleeing. Police seized 7,335 tolas of gold, 22.90 grams of silver, a high-end wristwatch and $43,050 in cash.
Police said Captain Giri (retd) approached an organization called Rajbir and Company to hire a couple as domestic workers. They booked Mahendra Shahi and Upendra Shahi, who police say conspired to commit robbery.
Thieves escaped with 30 tolas of gold
Hyderabad:Robbers attacked the house of Dr Kamran Jahan in Al-Hamra Colony in Shaikpet and made off with approximately gold ornaments and Rs 1.75 lakh. Dr Jahan and his family were in Assam.
Watchman Meraj, who learned that the lock of the house was broken on December 6, reported the situation to Dr. He informed Jahan, who called his relatives and contacted the police. Filmnagar police said teams have been formed to verify CCTV footage to identify the gang.
Filmnagar police arrested Edla Praveen Kumar, a laborer from Nirmal area, late in the evening and seized 40 tolas of gold jewelery and $4,000 in cash, Filmnagar station officer S. Santosham said.
