Days of Our Lives star Patrick Muldoon’s cause of death revealed after shock passing at age 57
The cause of death of Patrick Muldoon, 57, was determined to be a heart attack, to which many underlying health factors contributed.

The actor, known for his roles in Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place, was cremated Tuesday, authorities said.
Authorities listed Muldoon’s occupation on the certificate as actor/producer.
Muldoon suffered a heart attack on April 19 at the Beverly Hills home he shared with his girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart, his manager told Variety.

Shortly after graduating in 1991, he landed a three-episode recurring role on the popular teen comedy Saved By The Bell.
His breakthrough role came when he was cast as boxer Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives.
He appeared on the series from 1992 to 1995 and then returned from 2011 to 2012.
He is also known for portraying villain Richard Hart on Melrose Place between seasons three through five.
Muldoon’s big screen work is as Zander Barcalow in the 1997 sci-fi film Starship Troopers, opposite his ex-girlfriend Denise Richards.

Muldoon reunited with Richards to film his latest acting role in the crime thriller Dirty Hands, which will be released this year.
They remained close friends after dating on and off for five years in the 1990s.
She appeared in an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, where Richards was a member of the cast.
Muldoon was also seen filming a music video together on the reality show Denise Richards & Her Wild Things.
Muldoon also dated Lisa Rinna, Tori Spelling and Juliette Binoche.
He had followed his passion for music and was the lead singer and guitarist of the rock band The Sleeping Masses.
The star has also worked as a producer, earning executive producer credits on many films.
These include The Tribes of Palos Verdes, Arkansas, Marlowe, The Dreadful and finally Kockroach, which is currently filming and stars Chris Hemsworth and Taron Egerton.

In his last Instagram post, shared the day before his death, he wrote: ‘I am so excited to be a part of this amazing project KOCKROACH, directed by Matt Ross and starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Edgerton, Zazie Beetz and Alec Baldwin. ‘Currently filming in Australia.’
Fans flooded the post with praise, with one writing: ‘I grew up watching you starship troopers. RIP legend.”
Muldoon made his last public appearance in March, posing for a photo with Richards at the 2026 Saturn Awards.
Last year, the actor teased a possible return to Days of Our Lives in a video shared on Peacock’s official Instagram page.
In the short clip, she could be seen wandering around the set of the daytime show before telling the cameras: ‘Oh my God, I’m in Salem!’ It’s nice to be back.”

Muldoon is survived by his partner Miriam Rothbart, his parents Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr., as well as his sister Shana and brother-in-law Ahmet Zappa, and their children Halo and Arrow Zappa.
