Trump advisors slam Pompeo, Cruz for undermining Iran deal negotiations

While President Donald Trump was burning the midnight oil to strike a last-minute peace and denuclearization deal with Iran, the White House inner circle was hammering critics from the right for either trying to “undermine” the peace effort or “illegally” abusing his remaining security clearance.

The Fox News writer has received X criticism from some of the top advisers in Trump’s inner circle, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, White House communications director Steven Cheung, deputy assistant for counterterrorism Sebastian Gorka and outside political consultant Alex Bruesewitz.

“Mike Pompeo has no idea what he’s talking about,” Cheung wrote in one post. Saturday night hardcore X post. “The idiot should shut up and leave the real work to the professionals. He doesn’t understand anything that’s going on, so how would he know?”

Pompeo’s post, which drew the ire, suggested that the upcoming Trump deal would turn into an Obama-era capitulation to Iran’s ongoing nuclear weapons ambitions.

“The proposed deal with Iran seems to be straight out of the Wendy Sherman-Robert Malley-Ben Rhodes playbook: Pay the IRGC to create a WMD program and terrorize the world.” Pompeo wrote to X. “First of all, it’s not far from America.”

“It’s very clear: Open the damn strait. Block Iran’s access to money. Eliminate enough Iranian capacity so it doesn’t threaten our allies in the region.

“He’s late. Let’s go.”

While Gorka did not confirm anything about Pompeo’s post, he suggested that the former secretary of state may be “illegally” abusing his remaining high security clearance.

“You have no knowledge of what is being discussed in secret.” Gorka wrote to X. “If you did that, you would have information that was provided to you illegally and that you are completely not allowed to have or share.”

“So are you a liar or a guilty Pompeo?” Gorka asked.

Cruz also received backlash for a post that claimed Trump’s peace efforts would be insufficient due to the giving of “billions of dollars” to the Iranian regime.

“I am deeply concerned about what we are hearing about the Iran ‘deal’ that some voices in the administration are pushing,” Cruz said. wrote on X on Saturday. “President Trump’s decision to strike Iran was the most important decision of his second term. He was right to do it, and we achieved extraordinary military results, including destroying all of their missiles and drones and sinking their entire navy.

“If the result of all this is an Iranian regime led by Islamists who still chant “Death to America,” receives billions of dollars, can enrich uranium, develop nuclear weapons, and has effective control over the Strait of Hormuz, then that outcome would be a disastrous mistake.

“Details are still emerging and I pray the initial reports are wrong, but Biden’s Rob Malley praising the deal is not encouraging.

“President Trump believes in peace through force, and his strong leadership has already made America much safer. He must continue to hold the line, defend America, and enforce the red lines he has drawn over and over again.”

This led to criticism from one of Trump’s outside political advisers in Bruesewitz.

“Great, Ted,” Bruesewitz wrote to X, referencing a tit-for-tat exchange with Cruz. “No one asked you, brother.

“Stop trying to undermine the president and his administration.”

Cruz responded by suggesting that Trump’s inner circle may be pushing the Obama-era policy of “appeasing Iran.”

“Hush, my child” Cruz responded on X. “Adults talking. I’m not your ‘brother’.” And the young political hustlers trying to appease Iran are not even remotely helpful to the President.”

While there has been some criticism of Trump’s peace efforts in the White House, a prominent anti-war voice from the right in the Senate told critics to let Trump cook.

“War almost always ends with negotiations,” Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., wrote Sunday morning at X. “Critics of President Trump’s peace talks should give President Trump space to find an America First solution.”
