Delhi Police Probe Cyberattacks on CBSE Portal

New Delhi: Delhi Police has registered a case against unidentified persons for allegedly carrying out coordinated cyber attacks on CBSE’s post-result services portal, police said on Friday.
The case was registered by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations unit after CBSE filed a complaint. The portal, launched on June 2, allows Grade 12 students to request verification and re-evaluation of their answer scripts.
CBSE said the portal faced repeated attacks for three days and the malicious traffic originated from various IP addresses within and outside India. The attacks were aimed at destabilizing the platform, blocking access to legitimate users and attempting to extract unauthorized information, the board said.
The board said its systems and databases remained secure and no data breaches or unauthorized access were detected. It was stated that the attacks were mitigated through 24-hour monitoring with the support of cyber security teams of IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, Digital India Corporation, I4C, CERT-In and other institutions.
The complaint comes at a time when concerns have been expressed by some Class 12 students that scanned copies of answer sheets uploaded by the board did not match their handwriting.
