Denmark flew blood bags and explosives into Greenland after Trump threatened to take island ‘the hard way’ – and troops prepared to blow up runways

Denmark has reportedly sent blood bags and explosives to Greenland as it prepares for a full-scale war against the US after Donald Trump threatened to invade the island.

Danish troops It carried live ammunition and bombs to destroy runways in the capital Nuuk and Kangerlussuaq, a small town north of the capital, to prevent US planes from landing there in case of war.

Officials feared the US could attack at any time after Trump threatened to seize the region ‘the hard way’.

Denmark was reportedly seeking political support from France, Germany and its Scandinavian neighbors to form a European alliance defending Greenland against a US takeover shortly after Trump won the 2024 election.

He claimed that he would ‘worry about Greenland in about two months’ and said, ‘We need Greenland due to the national security situation.’ ‘This is very strategic’ and adds: ‘Right now Greenland is covered everywhere with Russian and Chinese ships.’

French President Emmanuel Macron said the first group would be strengthened with ‘land, air and sea assets’.

The deployment, known as Operation Arctic Endurance, was presented as a joint military exercise but was actually intended to protect against US invasion.

Trump accused his European allies of ‘playing a dangerous game’ by traveling to Greenland for ‘unknown purposes’.

‘The political leadership, Defense and security apparatus in Denmark decided to ‘play games’,’ said a French official.

Danish soldiers were carrying ammunition and would go into battle in the event of an invasion; Heavily armed F-35 warplanes were moved north.

“We haven’t been in a situation like this since April 1940,” a Danish defense source told DR.

Trump eventually dropped his threats to use force to seize Greenland but said he hoped for “immediate negotiations” to find a compromise.
