A Deputy U.S. Marshal was shot and killed while serving an arrest warrant in Alexandria, Louisiana, on Monday, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

The Rapides County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened around 3 p.m. in the area of ​​Rutland Road, where authorities were trying to apprehend a wanted fugitive.
