Government inviting Chinese companies to invest in India even after Operation Sindoor: Owaisi

AIMIM president Jalna Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday questioned the nationalist credentials of the ruling BJP and accused the Center of inviting Chinese companies to invest in India even after Operation Sindoor and not responding to US President Donald Trump’s repeated insults.

So far, there has been no response from either the government or the BJP to Owaisi’s accusations.

The Hyderabad MP was addressing a rally attended by AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) candidates contesting the January 15 elections in the Jalna Municipal Corporation polls. His party fielded candidates in 17 of the 65 electoral wards in the civil society.
Owaisi claimed that China supplied weapons to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, which India launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. He claimed that almost 80 percent of Pakistan’s military equipment was procured from China.

“Despite this, the Indian government invites Chinese companies to invest in the country,” he said.

He also claimed that US President Trump “repeatedly insulted and mocked India”. “But the BJP leadership remained silent. Where did its nationalism go?” he asked.
Owaisi also criticized the Centre’s decision to grant asylum to former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina following her dismissal. He asked why Indian Muslims were often branded as Bangladeshis, while Hasina was given refuge in India. Claiming that many Muslim youth are languishing in jail for years without trial, he said that denial of bail violated Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, which guarantees the right to life and personal liberty.

The AIMIM chief also accused the Congress of being responsible for the long incarceration of student activists Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam. He alleged that amendments made by the Congress to the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) allowed for extended detention without bail.

Owaisi said the masks of the “so-called secular parties” were exposed after they formed an alliance with the BJP. He said such parties were equally responsible for the backwardness of Dalits and Muslims.

He called on Muslims to go beyond being voters and create their own leadership. “They made you a slave and used you,” he said.
