Dhinakaran exits NDA; Amit Shah asks T.N. BJP leaders to exercise restraint

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) leader TTV Dhinakaran announced that his party came out of Tamil Nadu.
Only two days ago, since BJP revived the election ties with AIADMK, he had shared his disappointment on his party’s constant negligence. In a significant way, a day when BJP’s key election strategist and Union Interior Minister Amit Shah tried to correct relations at an internal party meeting.
Recently, former Prime Minister O. Panneerselvam was disappointed by BJP and had cut off his ties with Nda.
Speaking to journalists after joining the marriage function of a party function in Kattumannarkovil, Mr. Dhinakaran said that he has been patience to enable all cadres and followers (Late Jayalithaa) to form a part of an alliance. However, after realizing that there was no way of progress, the AMMK decided to leave the alliance for the elections of the 2026 Assembly.

The core group was asked to identify the assembly seats that BJP could compete with AIADMK in 2026, but no number was provided. A source was also asked to organize regional conferences, establish cabin level committees, and most importantly, establish local coordination committees with alliance partners, ”he said. There were no discussions about the issues to be brought up in the elections, resources were added.
