Dimitrios Ct stabbing: Murder investigation launched into death of man in Hocking, Perth

The local community is in shock after the death of a man stabbed in a cul-de-sac house.

Neighbors said they were stunned when emergency services rushed to Dimitrios Ct in Hocking, north of Perth, at around 6.45am on Tuesday.

It was understood that a man in his 50s was found with stab wounds.

WA Police said he was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries, but could not be saved and died from his injuries.

Locals initially thought the police response was for an accident at a nearby intersection, which they said was not an unusual situation.

“I’m shocked; I didn’t expect a stabbing in this area,” a Hocking resident said.

“All the neighbors know each other and they all look out for each other.”

Another person who has lived in the area for a long time said he heard what happened after he came home from shopping.

“It’s scary, very scary,” he said.

Homicide detectives cordoned off the street and significant police resources remained at the scene.
