The ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu has failed to fulfill its poll promise made during the 2021 Assembly elections to ensure social justice by implementing 10.5 per cent internal reservation for Vanniyars in the state, PMK chief Anbumani Ramadoss said on Thursday.
AIADMK general secretary and then Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, who was campaigning in Polur, said that he had taken steps to implement 10.5 per cent of internal reservation before the 2021 elections. “The DMK government stopped the process of implementing internal reservations after coming to power in 2021. Since then, PMK has been demanding its implementation, but DMK has remained silent on the issue. The party should be sent home after the 2026 elections,” he said.
