Dolly Parton ‘going to be just fine’, singer’s sister says as she calls for prayers amid health problems | Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton’s sister says she’s been “praying all night” for the singer as she continues to deal with unspecified health issues.

Freida Parton wrote that her 79-year-old sister “hasn’t been feeling her best lately,” two weeks after the singer postponed her Las Vegas residency in December, citing “health challenges.”

“Last night, I was praying for my sister Dolly,” Freida Parton wrote on Facebook.

“Many of you know that she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer and I have led her to ask the whole world who love to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”

“Strong, loved, and with all prayers being lifted up for her, I know in my heart she will be okay. Godspeed, my sissy dolly. We all love you!”

Parton, Dolly: The singer’s first extended concert run in 32 years was set for Las Vegas on Dec. 4 at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, but has been rescheduled for September 2026.

The singer says she is “dealing with some health challenges and my doctors are telling me I need to have a few procedures.”

She didn’t give details, but added heartily: “As I joked with them, it should be time for my 100,000 mile checkup, even though it’s not a usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”

He continued: “In all seriousness, given this, I won’t be able to put together the show I want you to see and the show I deserve to see. You pay good money to see me and I want to be the best for you… I need some time to prepare the show, as they say.”

“And don’t worry about me talking about work because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But I believe He’s telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for bigger adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”

When asked about the possibility of retirement in an interview last year, Parton told the Guardian: “Oh, Lord, I can’t retire. I always say I’m dreaming of myself in a corner. I have to keep all these dreams alive. Every dream turns into something else… I couldn’t retire if I wanted to. And I don’t want to.”

Parton’s husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, died in March at the age of 82.
