Donald Trump published a condolence message after it was announced that Village People’s lead singer Victor Willis had passed away. The band’s official social media page announced that Victor Willis, lead singer of the 1970s disco band Village People, died at the age of 74.
The Texas-born musician was the lead singer and co-writer of the band’s biggest hits, including YMCA, Go West and In The Navy. The US President paid tribute to the singer on TruthSocial, writing: “Victor Willis, singer of Village People, has died at the age of 74. He was a wonderful, happy man who liked me to use the band’s song YMCA at my rallies. It became a “monster” hit again, 30 years after its initial launch. Many singers and bands wanted to attend Rallies after Rally Attendance Records were broken – The crowds were, and are, enormous – But Victor and the band were the biggest He was there for us from the beginning!
