ED probes alleged criminal syndicate in West Bengal, summons two for questioning

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued summons to two persons to record their statements in connection with a case charging Biswajit Podder alias Sona Pappu and her associates with sedition, attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy and possession of illegal arms. West Bengal, according to agency officials.
“Summons have been issued to Howrah Joint Commissioner Gaurav Lal and ‘land mafia’ Joy Kamdar. Both were summoned to the ED office in Kolkata for questioning on April 13… In this case, the role of several TMC (Trinamool Congress) leaders is also coming to light and they are under the scanner of the investigation,” an agency official said.
