Erika Kirk marked her family’s first Thanksgiving without husband Charlie Kirk with a heartfelt message about grief, gratitude and faith.
Kirk, the wife of late conservative icon and TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk, said on Instagram on Thursday that she and Charlie “have always loved Thanksgiving because it brings us back to the simple yet sacred practice of gratitude.”
“And even now, especially now, in the depths of pain, I am reminded of that gratitude,” he wrote. “God has blessed me to be married to the love of my life, our beautiful babies, family and friends, and people from all over the world who send us letters, toys, artwork, and Bibles.”

The Turning Point CEO continued, “It’s easy to focus on what’s been taken away, what’s missing. But God, God meets me in my weakness and His strength slowly shifts my eyes to what I still have on this side of heaven.”
“What is left behind is sacred,” Kirk added.
Charlie Kirk was assassinated in September at the age of 31, leaving behind Erika and two children, one born in 2022 and the other born in 2024.

Kirk noted that her family received tremendous support in the months following her husband’s death, writing: “I can’t tell you how much the outpouring of love means to me and the babies. I read every letter and card, open every gift, and save each one for them when they grow up.”
She also shared a video showing a mountain of gifts and letters as she reflected on how she describes Heaven to her children.

Kirk finished his post by wishing Charlie a happy Thanksgiving, writing, “We’ll save you a plate, baby.”
