ESPN’s Monica McNutt apologizes to Taylor Swift, but her commentary follows an ugly trend

ESPN broadcaster Monica McNutt was caught on a hot mic accusing Taylor Swift of joining the New York Knicks during Wednesday night’s radio broadcast of Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
“Is that Taylor Swift?” he asked. “He’s not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl.”

JEMELE HILL SAYS SHE IS ‘EXTREMELY SORRY’ FOR KARMELO ANTHONY BECAUSE HER LAWYER IS WHITE
It attracted great attention at that moment. First, Swifties have little tolerance for criticism or perceived disrespect towards Swift. McNutt was also wrong in his assessment. Swift has attended numerous Knicks games since 2014, including during their losing season.
OutKick asked McNutt via text what his issue was with Swift and why he overlooked Swift’s previous visits to Madison Square Garden. McNutt did not respond. We’ll update this article if it does.
But he spoke to TMZ on Thursday.

“Swifties, I appreciate your passion. I said what I said and if I’m wrong, here’s the thing; and apparently I’m wrong because we have the OG Amar’e Stoudemire jersey,” said McNutt. “I said it wrong. I’m sorry.”
The more telling part of the story is McNutt’s apparent disdain for Taylor Swift. There is a pattern here. McNutt also appears to have a passionate dislike for Caitlin Clark and her White fans.
ESPN PUNDIT SAYS CAITLIN CLARK BEING A ‘WHITE GIRL FROM THE MIDDLE OF AMERICA’ HAS HELPED HER CONNECT WITH YOUNG FANS
Last year, he accused little white girls who supported Caitlin Clark of racial bias.
“Caitlin was representing, and again, some of this, in my opinion, is probably not fair to her, because it wasn’t something she said or really based on her personality, but she was a white girl from the middle of America. And so, whether or not that was really what she prescribed, she represented a lot of people,” McNutt said of her fandom among young white girls.
What about all the young Black girls supporting Serena Williams? Do they also have a racial bias, or are they just supporting a generational female athlete?

Imagine employing a sports analyst who doesn’t like Caitlin Clark, Taylor Swift, or Taylor Swift. doesn’t know Who is NFL legend Barry Sanders?
The last part is true.

Last summer, McNutt guest-hosted “First Take” on ESPN and was caught in an episode where he had no idea who the NFL legend was.
“Obviously this is linked to Shedeur Sanders,” said McNutt, pointing to comedian Druski, who was wearing a Honolulu blue No. 20 Barry Sanders jersey.
Wristwatch:
Blame white women for this. We suspect McNutt has already done this.
