Man shot dead by police called to shopping centre brawl

A man in his 20s was shot and killed by the police in a suburban shopping center after allegedly threatening them with a machete.

The NSW police said uniform officers made a few shots after threatening them during a fight in a shopping center parking lot west of Sydney on Saturday.

The man, police and medical officials died at 16:00 after trying to treat their injuries.

A crime was founded in Druitt Mountain Westfield and a critical event was declared.

The Murder Team of the State Crime Command will launch an investigation into the incident with the supervision of the Professional Standards Command.

Following the reports of a fight between the two groups, the police were called to the shopping center parking lot at the North Pass Ceremony at 15.15.

A Scentre Group spokesman said his team helped the authorities.
