Ex-security guard walks into bank and leaves with £117k | News

A former security guard tricked a bank staff into giving him a bag of cash while wearing his old G4S uniform.

CCTV footage shows Kwabena Kissi, 40, entering the Santander branch in Brixton, south London, in July 2022, wearing a helmet, mask and visor.

Unaware staff then handed him bags of cash containing £117,200 before leaving, leaving the money in a briefcase. Bank employees only realized that they had been defrauded when a real security guard came to make routine collections.

Kissi flew to Ghana the next day and lived with her sick mother for four years. He was arrested in March 2025 after returning to England.

He pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation at Snaresbrook Crown Court in April and was sentenced to 40 months in prison.
