François Bayrou is in office since the government’s government collapsed last December

French opposition parties, on September 8 for the plans of deep budget cuts, after looking for a vote of confidence in the Prime Minister François Bayrou’yu said they would not support.

The Bayrou, which has been a minority government since last December, called the vote on Monday and said France was faced with “worrying and therefore a decisive moment”. In the face of France’s budget deficit, “Yes, risky, but it’s more risky not to do anything.”

From the national rally on the right, the socialists, the Greens and France left to the left, and the opposition parties lined up to tell him that they would vote for him.

Bayrou called on the vote two days before the protests were called to “prevent everything” in France.

. Bloquons Tout movement It started on social media, but since then it has been supported by trade unions, and on the left after the Bayrou announced its plans for almost 44 billion € (£ 38 billion) in the budget cuts of plans in July.

Reacting to voting news, France’s CAC-40 stock index fell 1.59% on Monday and then 2% more on Tuesday morning.

“We need to find a way to prepare a budget for a budget for 2026 collectively,” said the Finance Minister Eric Lombard said on Tuesday.

Last year’s budget deficit hit 5.8% of the economic output of France (GDP) and the Bayrou said that France is in danger and would ask the parliament to choose the way to escape this curse [of indebtedness]”.

Bayrou was appointed by Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron after Michel Barnier’s government collapsed in the game last December.

The appearance for the Bayrou and the fragile government seems gloomy, because it has no sufficient support in the National Assembly.

The leaders of the far -right national rally party clearly stated that they would not vote for him immediately. President Jordan Bardella said Bayrou declared the “end of his government”, and leading Marine Le Pen would only allow Parliament to choose the fate of France.

Communists, ecologists and radical-left France said they would vote against the government, and then the socialist leader Olivier Faure said to Le Monde, “Socialists will vote for François Bayrou.”

“We are not looking for chaos to speed up the election calendar.” He said. He continued: “Not even voters, but no one supports a budget by proposing a budget François Bayrou responsible for political instability.”

“Let’s block everything” movement spread to France

Unless the Bayrou changes his minds, his chances of survival are low. The Minister of Finance said that there was a place for negotiation, but it was very solid to reduce the budget by € 44 billion.

Bayrou’s budget plans include reducing two of France’s national holidays, so there may be some scope for the government to continue.

On Monday, Bayrou’s decision to call a trust vote on September 8 praised the ministry colleagues movement.

Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin told French TV on Tuesday, the Prime Minister’s movement “extremely brave .. and very democratic,” he said.

If the government collapses, President Macron faces the option to leave Bayrou as the head of a guard government, to name another prime minister or to call new elections.

Bayrou announced after visiting the president during his holiday in Fort Bréghançon in south of France, so he was completely informed about the plans of Macron’s plans.

Macron himself refused to resign and his duration will continue until 2027, but in 2024, the decision to call SNAP elections left France with a minority government of centralists and right -wing Republicans.
