Fans break glass door trying to see Netflix star

Footage from social media showed glass doors outside a shopping mall in Nanning, southern China, shattering as fans waited to see actor Zhang Linghe on Sunday.

The 28-year-old actor, who starred in China’s historical drama Pursuit of Jade, was to take part in the Molsion glasses event.

Other videos on social media show crowds gathered around balconies at the mall. Organizers later canceled the in-person event and moved it online.

Linghe’s studio said in a statement on Sunday night: “The brand event originally scheduled for today has been temporarily rescheduled, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

“Everyone’s safety is always our first priority.”

He added that the actor and his studio will cover the travel and accommodation expenses of fans who come from afar to attend the event.

Molsion said medical checks had been arranged for fans who “sustained minor injuries” and added that security measures would be increased to ensure future events go “smoothly and safely”.
