Fetterman calls May Day protests an ‘orgy of socialism’ in break with Democratic Party

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., warned against what he called a “mini communist takeover” within his own party during an appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime.” Criticizing far-left groups participating in the May 1 protests, Fetterman called the current state of activism “a frenzy of socialism.”
“This is like Palestinian marriage, anti-ICE, abolition of ICE, and now it’s turned into a party of socialism here,” Fetterman said Friday. he said.
The Pennsylvania senator stated that while he supports labor unions, where May 1 should traditionally be celebrated, he believes that the recent demonstrations are far from the intended mission.
“I’m definitely a pro-union Democrat, but the kind of confusion you see manifests itself in a lot of these. This is the worst impulse our party has sustained,” he said.

Hundreds of groups hosted May 1 demonstrations, including the Democratic Socialists of America, the People’s Forum and Code Pink.
An investigation by Fox News Digital identified a network of activist groups holding thousands of protests on Friday, with combined annual revenue of nearly $2 billion.
“These kinds of protests are funded by billionaires against billionaires,” Fetterman said. “I don’t know if they realize the irony of a lot of this stuff right now.”

A school district in Wisconsin was closed for a day after receiving staff signatures supporting participation in a “Day Without Immigrants” event as part of the May 1 National Day of Action.

“They’re not just indoctrinating kids in the classroom. They’re actively encouraging students to leave the classroom and walk the streets with teachers and administrators,” Wisconsin Mothers for Freedom activist Scarlett Johnson said Friday on “Fox & Friends.”

Fetterman echoed his concerns and expressed disappointment that students were being pulled from class for political demonstrations.
“Your kids should be in school. My kids were in school. You can have your beliefs, but I truly believe that education is the most important thing, and that’s a value we can’t forget,” Fetterman said. he said.
“I especially celebrate some of the worst ideas that have ever visited humanity.”
