Finalissima: Argentina v Spain match set for Qatar cancelled because of Middle East war

BBC Sport has contacted the Argentine Football Association for comment.
UEFA said: “Argentina made a counter-proposal to play the game after the World Cup, but as Spain had no available dates this option had to be ruled out.”
Spanish FA said, external He “worked extensively” to have the game played in every possible format, either in Spain or at a neutral venue.
The statement said: “Spain was always ready to play as they said. They did not put any conditions.
“Spain offered all the possibilities together with UEFA.”
On Saturday, the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Formula 1 Grand Prix, scheduled for April, were cancelled.
Formula 1 said it was unsafe to hold races due to conflict in the region.
Finalissima, which is held every four years and organized by UEFA and the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol), was last won by Argentina at Wembley in 2022.
