Five Dead After Wall of Dargah Near Humayun’s Tomb Collapses: Delhi Police

New Delhi: Five people were killed and four people were injured after the collapse of a Dargah wall near Humayun in Nizamuddin, Nizamuddin, and four people were injured.

Police Sanjay Kumar Jain, told reporters, “So far, five people who are treated at the AIIMS Trauma Center died and others are still treated. We have taken the cord from the region.” He said.

He said that people visited Dargah for Friday prayers and sat in the room because of the rain.

The rescue operation was completed and the police said that a total of 10 to 12 victims were rescued from the wreck after a call was taken at 3.55 hours.

After the incident, many rescue agencies, including Delhi Fire Brigade Services (DFS), Delhi Police, NDRF and Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), were put into service.

“The station house officer and local staff reached there in five minutes and began to save. After a while, firefighters and cats ambulances reached the point. He said.

A senior DFS official initially said that a call for the collapse of a part of a dome in the grave was taken, and then the five fire tender immediately ran to the point.

Authorities, the incident, not the main dome of the 16th century monument, but a smaller room in the facilities announced.

An eyewitness Vishal Kumar, PTI, “I work in the Tomb of Humayun. When we heard the noise. My supervisor ran. We called for people and management. We slowly removed people who fell into the trap.”

“There were at least 10 to 12 people. The Imam was there and also between the wounded. I took out at least eight to nine people,” he said.

“I was standing outside and I was about to enter the room and I was just two steps away. When it started to rain, everyone came in to take refuge.”

PTI, “At that time, the wall collapsed. After that I started shouting for help, but there was no one around. I kept shouting, and then some people came from the relatives and helped us to save everyone stuck inside.”

Humayun, the UNESCO World Heritage site, is an important tourist attraction center in the national capital and is visited by hundreds of local and foreign visitors every day.

“There was no damage in the Humayun Tomb in the Humayun Tomb. A new structure was built near the Humayun grave, the part has collapsed and some fell to the walls of the Humayun grave.” He said.

Humayun’s grave complex has been a long -standing part of a long -standing partnership between India’s archaeological research and Aga Khan Culture trust.
