Former NFL player Josh Mauro’s cause of death ruled accidental overdose

According to the news of California Post based on Maricopa County Medical Examiner, former NFL player Josh Mauro died of drug overdose.
The Post said Mauro died of “acute combined fentanyl, cocaine and ethanol intoxication.”
Mauro’s death was ruled accidental output added.

Josh’s father, Greg Mauro, announced his son’s death. Facebook post He said he passed away on April 23 last month.
“With many tears and broken hearts anchored in an unwavering trust that our precious Josh Mauro is now healed and restored – rest in God’s presence – we humbly ask for your prayers as our family recovers from the devastating loss of our amazing son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend,” Greg Mauro wrote in his post.
“On Thursday, April 23, Josh took his last breath on this Earth and his first in heaven. The Lord became our strength in this unimaginable moment. Your prayers for continued strength and comfort mean more to us than words can express.”

Mauro entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford and Pittsburgh Steelers But the Steelers couldn’t keep the 6-foot-1, 290-pound defensive end around long and cut him during their final roster move before the season started.
But Mauro Arizona Cardinals, and would spend the next four seasons in the desert helping out on the defensive line.
Mauro collected 83 combined tackles and four sacks in 55 games (29 starts) during his six seasons with the Cardinals. He labored in a starting role in 2016, which saw him slip to seven defeats in 15 matches.
Mauro also spent time with the New York Giants and then the Oakland Raiders before returning to the Cardinals for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
Mauro was born in England, where his father was posted on business. He would eventually move from England to Texas and build a high school resume that would allow him to play Division I football at Stanford.

In 80 career games, Mauro has five sacks, 130 combined tackles (20 for loss), two forced fumbles and five passes defensed.
