Fortnite down? Epic says login issues fixed, but here’s why you still might not be able to play Battle Royale or Zero Build

Fortnite players around the world appear to be experiencing login issues after thousands of people reported being unable to access the game. According to Downdetector, 3,747 users reported an outage around 1:48 pm on Sunday, November 30; Most complaints were related to server connection issues (63%), followed by game issues (21%) and login errors (15%).

Epic Games confirms login issues

Fortnite’s official status account addressed the issue in X, acknowledging common login errors.
“We are aware that players may not be able to log into Fortnite at this time and we are investigating. We will notify you when an update is available.” — Fortnite Status (@FortniteStatus)

Minutes later, the developer announced that the login issues had been resolved, but reminded players that some major modes were still unavailable.


“Login issues have been fixed, but as a reminder, Battle Royale, Zero Build, Save The World, and Ballistic will be temporarily unavailable during the Yuki’s Revenge premiere event.”

Latest Fortnite server activity and planned maintenance

The outage follows a series of planned maintenance windows and event-related outages around Fortnite’s v39.00 update and Zero Hour live event. According to Fortnite’s event logs:

  • November 30: v39.00 update downtime completed
  • November 29: Multiple scheduled maintenance periods
  • November 29: Servers taken offline for highly anticipated update after Zero Hour event

Why did Fortnite shut down today?

While Epic has yet to confirm the exact cause of Sunday’s outage, the login issues may be linked to ongoing server adjustments, high traffic, and game modes that were temporarily disabled during the Yuki’s Revenge premiere event.
