Four die after taking herbal medicine from traditional healer for alcohol de-addiction

Four people, including one woman, died on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 after consuming herbal remedies given by a people who declared self -declared for alcohol addiction in Imadapur Village in Sedam Taluk, Sedam Taluk.

Four died, 45 -year -old Lakshmi Narasimhalu, a hotel employee and a resident of Burugupalli village, 27 -year -old Madakal village, 30 -year -old Ganesh Rathod from Dakka Tanda in Şahabad Taluk and 35 -year -old Manohar Chavan’s King’s Bheemanahalli Taluk’da ski.

All four of them died on Wednesday evening, and at the same time, someone else who takes the drug is in critical state and is being treated in GIMs.

Navitha Bhagappa Kachavar filed a complaint at the Sedam Police Station on Wednesday, and on Tuesday, his mother Lakshmi Narasimhalu and his brother Ningappa, who obtained tokens from the traditional healer named Fakirappa from the Imadapur Village of Imadapur Village.

As he insisted by his mother, Navitha Kachavar and her husband visited Imder on Wednesday morning to collect coins for consultation. His mother and brother reached Imadapur at noon.

Until 14:00, his traditional healer mother, brother and others gave a mixture of herbal medicine, including Nagesh, Ganesh and Manohar, who fell unconscious after consuming the drug.

The victims initially ran to Sedam Taluk Hospital and then shifted to the Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) in the Lakshmi Narashimhalu and Ningappa Kalaburagi.

Police Director Adduru Srinivasulu said the accused Fakirappa was arrested. He was sent to custody of the judiciary on Thursday.

The former Mla Rajkumar Patil Telkur asked the state government to provide a relative of each of the four dead.
