Four of a wedding party, including a child, killed in lorry crash near Kambham in Markapuram district

Four people, including a four-year-old girl, died and seven others were injured when they were hit by a speeding truck near Kambham in Markapuram district in the early hours of Friday, July 3, 2026.
Villagers said the deceased were Alakananda (19), Ankalu (23), Nagalakshmi (4) and Nagesh (19) from Nallabanda Bazar in Giddaluru town, who had come to attend a wedding in Kambham.

The group arrived at the roadside Vinayaka temple for darshan around 1.30 am. A speeding truck crashed into a car in which four people were sitting and then hit seven people standing near the temple.
The truck was traveling from Madanapalle to Wyra with a load of coconut fiber when the accident occurred.
Circle Inspector Mallikarjuna and Sub-Inspector Shiva Krishna Reddy rushed to the spot and rushed the injured to a hospital in Markapuram. The investigation continues.
