Free pints for St George’s Day at 239 UK pubs today for anyone with these names | UK | News

St George’s Day is here and patriotic British men and women can donate a pint to our patron saint for free. Proper Pubs, which has 239 pubs across the UK, is offering free beer to patriots on Thursday, April 23.
The offer includes popular beers such as John Smiths, Fosters and Carling, as well as white wines, ciders, rosé and soft drinks such as Pepsi Max.
It’s open to anyone over the age of 18 and participating bars, but there’s one catch: your name must be George or some version of it, such as Georgia, Georgina, Georgie – “we’re not picky,” the bar chain says.
Proper Pubs says patriots drinking free beer must show valid ID to prove their namesake connection to St George.
The offer may vary by bar and availability, and the offer is one free drink per person and email address, the company says.
Proper Pubs said: “This St George’s Day we’re giving away free drinks to anyone who can prove it. “George, Georgia, Georgina, Georgie… we’re not picky.
“Just show your ID at the bar and we’ll do the rest. Come down, grab your free ID and see where the day takes you.”
“Aren’t you George? There’s no freebie this time, but you can still join,”
Other terms and conditions apply including: “This voucher entitles you to one free drink from the list below: Pint John Smiths, Pint Carling, Pint Fosters, Pint Strongbow original, Pint Magners original, Pint Inch’s Cider, 175ml Jack Rabbit Merlot, 175ml El Velero Tempranillo Tinto, 175ml Jack Rabbit White Zinfandel, 175ml Rugged Ridge Zinfandel Rose, 175ml Jack Rabbit Chardonnay, 175ml Jack Rabbit Pinot Grigio, 175ml El Velero Verdejo Blanco, Regular Pepsi, Regular Pepsi Max and Regular Lemonade.”
