Fresh blow for Andrew after latest Epstein Files announcement | Royal | News

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been dealt a fresh blow with the announcement of a new Channel 4 documentary examining the Epstein Files. The forensics series will star Emily Maitlis, who famously interviewed the former Duke of York about his links to Epstein on BBC Newsnight in 2019.

It appears that the main focus of the program will be on how Epstein got away with his actions for so long.

Speaking ahead of the show’s launch, host Emily Maitlis said: “I’ve spent my career telling stories that those in power would rather we didn’t. The Epstein case is the whole story – a web of wealth, influence and immunity that destroyed lives and was protected by institutions we should trust. Survivors have waited long enough. I’m determined that this series will not only raise more questions, it will provide answers.”

Louisa Compton, Channel 4’s Head of News and Current Affairs, added: The story of Jeffrey Epstein is a revelation of how power protects itself, how wealth perverts justice, and how abuse can hide in plain sight for decades. “This series will confront the disturbing truth at the heart of the case: what it reveals about the world we live in and who it is designed to serve.”

To talk New StatesmanMr Brown told the magazine that Andrew should also be investigated for alleged trafficking to the UK by pedophilia financier Jeffrey Epstein.

He said: “British authorities should question Andrew again, not only about possible breaches of the Official Secrets Act, but also about his use of public funds and, in particular, the alleged smuggling of women into the country by Epstein, who were brought to him at Sandringham, Buckingham Palace, Windsor and elsewhere.”

Mr Brown said Andrew’s connection to pedophile Epstein should be “expanded” to include allegations of sexual abuse. Andrew has always denied all allegations against him. He said: “Prosecuting those who aided and abetted Epstein will deliver justice for those who were subjected to gross, unconscionable sexual abuse.

“If, as the Epstein emails indicate, the former prince was forwarding government documents to friends and apparently going beyond seeking advice on how to carry out his public role, then there should be an investigation not only into the possible disclosure of official secrets, but also into the use of public funds.”

Andrew consistently denied injustice.
