Gaza ceasefire talks on verge of collapse, Palestinian officials say

According to the Palestinian officials who are familiar with the details of the discussions, negotiations on the new Gaza ceasefire and hostage release agreement between Israel and Hamas in Qatar are on the verge of collapse.
A senior official told the BBC that Israel had “took time” during his visit to Washington this week by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and sent a delegation to Doha, who had no authority to decide on the points of debate.
These include the withdrawal of Israeli troops and the distribution of humanitarian aid.
Before leaving the United States on Thursday, Netanyahu continued a positive tone by saying that he hoped to complete an agreement in a few days.
The proposed agreement said that Hamas will still launch more than half of the 30 dead hostage during a 60 -day ceasefire.
Since last Sunday, Israel and Hamas negotiators have participated in eight rounds of “proximity” negotiations in separate buildings in Doha.
Qatar Prime Minister Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani and senior Egyptian intelligence officials were facilitated and joined by US Envoy Brett McGurk.
Mediators gave dozens of verbal and written messages between the Israeli delegation, including Hamas delegation and military, security and political officials.
However, on Friday night, the Palestinian officials familiar with negotiations were on the verge of collapse of the BBC, and the two sides were deeply divided into various controversial issues.
They said that the latest discussions focused on both of these issues: the scope of the mechanism of humanitarian aid in Gaza and the withdrawal of Israeli military withdrawal.
Hamas insisted that humanitarian aid should enter Gaza and be distributed through the United Nations agencies and international charities.
Israel, on the other hand, oppresses for the distribution of aid with the controversial Israel and US -backed mechanism carried out by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
According to the mediators participating in the process, limited progress on bridging in this issue was made. However, an official agreement has not been reached.

The second largest point of adhesion is the scope of the withdrawal of Israel.
In the fifth talks, Israel negotiators reported a written message stating that the intermediaries will continue a limited “buffer zone” at depth of 1km to 1.5km (0.6-0.9 miles) in Gaza.
According to a Palestinian official who joined at least two of the talks, Hamas saw this proposal as a possible starting point for reconciliation.
However, when Hamas wanted and received a map summarizing Israel’s proposed withdrawal zones, the document contradicts the previous message, which shows deeper military positions. It was said that the map showed the bumper zones at a depth of 3 km (1.8 miles) in certain areas and confirmed Israel’s continuous existence in large regions.
85% of the village of Khuzaa in the east of Khan Younis, the northern towns of Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun, and the eastern neighborhoods of the Gaza City such as Tuffah, Shejaiya and Zeitoun.

Hamas officials saw the map as a malicious maneuver by Israel, and more confidence between the parties was overwhelmed.
Palestinian officials accused the Israeli Prime Minister of deliberately stopping the Israeli delegation to create a positive diplomatic ground for his last visit to Washington.
“They have never been serious about these talks,” a high -level Palestinian negotiator told BBC. He said. “They used these tours to buy time and reflect the image of wrong progress.”
The author also also claimed that Israel had followed a long -term forced displacement strategy under the guise of human planning.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel claimed that a “humanitarian city” in the Palestinians of the Palestinians in Rafah was part of a wider effort to permanently replace them permanently.
“The purpose of condensing civilians close to the Egyptian border is to pave the way for the transition to Egypt or from the sea.” He said.
On Monday, Katz said to Israeli reporters that the army instructed the army to prepare a plan for a new camp that will host about 600,000 Palestinians at the Rafah and eventually the entire population of 2.1 million.
According to the plan, the Palestinians would be scanned by the Israeli forces before being allowed and would not be allowed to leave.
Critics, human rights groups, academicians and lawyers in the international arena, both at home and in the international arena, condemned the proposal by calling a plan for a “concentration camp”.

With the talks at a critical intersection, the Palestinian side calls for the US to oppress the US more strongly and to put Israel to make meaningful concessions.
Without such an intervention, mediators warn, doha negotiations can completely collapse.
This is a scenario that will make regional efforts even more complexity to reach a durable ceasefire and to prevent a wider humanitarian disaster in Gaza.
The diplomats in Doha say that there is still a narrow window for reconciliation, but the situation remains fragile.
“This process is hanging with a thread.” He said. “We may be going to a malfunction unless something is dramatic and quickly changes.”
The Israeli army launched a campaign in Gaza in response to the attack on Hamas on 7 October 2023 against Southern Israel, and about 1,200 people were killed and 251 people were hostage.
According to the Ministry of Health operated by Hamas of the region, at least 57,823 people have been killed in Gaza since then.
