New Delhi: US President Donald Trump confirmed that his administration imposed secondary sanctions on India because it continued to buy oil from Russia and that there was a serious return in Indo-US relations. Speaking during a bilateral meeting with Polish President Karol Nawroci in the oval office, Trump warned that more punishing measures defined as “second stage” and “stage” sanctions remained on the table.

When he was questioned by a Polish reporter about his approach to Russian President Vladimir Putin, he was visibly irritated.

These tariffs, which entered into force on 27 August, effectively doubled the tasks on the US exports to the United States and increased the total to 50 percent.

Putin reiterated that Trump, India, in a military parade in Beijing, in response to a recent demonstration between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Trump, the measures against India were targeted.

In the new Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underlined India’s strategic autonomy and indigenous priorities and responded closely to the US pressure.

“The pressure on us may increase, but we will carry it,” PM Modi said.

Indian officials argue that energy imports are definitely directed with reasonable price and supply reliability rather than geopolitical issues. He also warned that newly implemented tariffs from Washington are at risk of damaging a significant strategic partnership.
