NFL news: Eagles, Chargers bewilder fans with fumble fracas

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was involved in a bizarre play after interfering with Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Da’Shawn Hand on Monday night.
Hand moved back into coverage on the snap, and Hurts threw to wide receiver AJ Brown in triple coverage. Hand was there to intercept the pass and began running down the field. However, he failed when trying to get the ball back.

Hurts took the ball and for a minute thought he had saved the game. Instead the ball fell from his hand. Finally, Chargers linebacker Troy Dye recovered the ball. Hurts had two turnovers in one game.
The Chargers kicked a field goal on their next drive to take a 10-3 lead.

The play definitely surprised NFL fans.
Los Angeles entered the first half leading 10-6, but turnovers were too much. Towards the end of the second quarter, both teams committed three turnovers.

The lone touchdown was scored when Justin Herbert found rookie running back Omarion Hampton for a 4-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Since then, Herbert has missed one of his passes and fumbled.
The Eagles didn’t have much success offensively.
Hurts was 10-of-19 for 95 yards and two interceptions.
