GOP demands answers from Walz after viral video exposes alleged daycare fraud

Politicians criticized Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on social media Saturday after a viral video raised questions about a day care center in Minneapolis that allegedly received millions of dollars in state funds despite being largely inactive.

Rep. Mike Lawler, R-Y., demanded that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz be “held accountable.”
“People need to be arrested and prosecuted and the Governor of Minnesota held accountable,” Lawler wrote to X on Saturday. “Congress should hold a hearing immediately and begin getting answers.”
In a 42-minute video posted Friday on X and YouTube by independent reporter Nick Shirley, Shirley and another man visit several child care centers in the blue state, including one on Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis.
In the images, there is no visible activity on the site, where there is a misspelled sign reading “Quality Education Center”; however, the center is reportedly responsible for 99 children and receives approximately $4 million in government funding.

“The more you look at this, the more you will be horrified by what your tax money is doing and the fact that your vote will mean nothing if this is not reversed,” Musk wrote to X. “The most obvious example is the Somali voting bloc in Minnesota, a state with historically zero Somalis, electing Ilhan Omar to the U.S. Congress.”
Musk had posted the following the day before: “Prosecute [Tim Walz]”
The video went viral this week amid the burgeoning scandal enveloping the Walz administration and involving at least $1 billion lost due to alleged social services fraud largely tied to the Twin Cities’ Somali community.

It was reported that some of it fell into the hands of the Somali terrorist organization Al-Shabab.
Lawler and Walz did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
