It was around 2 a.m. when the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) was called to Brussels Avenue, near Industriel Boulevard. Four automobile businesses, garages and parts sellers are located in this sector. We observed the same modus operandi that has been reported in recent weeks: firefighters were busy fighting an arson attack targeting a commercial establishment.

“According to the first information obtained, a suspect left the premises before the arrival of the postal workers, after having smashed a window and having thrown possibly incendiary elements inside the establishment,” indicates agent Florence Stafford, public relations officer at the SPVM.

“Significant” damage was noted on the building, but no injuries were reported and no arrests were made. “A security perimeter was established so that investigators from the arson module could carry out a complete analysis,” specifies M.me Stafford.
