Government appoints Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan as next Chief of Naval Staff

The government has appointed Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, PVSM, AVSM, VSM as the next Chief of Naval Staff. He currently serves as FOC-in-C (Flag Officer Commander) at the Western Naval Forces Command.

Current Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, PVSM, AVSM, NM will retire on May 31, 2026.

Promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral, he served as Flag Officer, Chief of Staff of Western Naval Command, Controller of Personnel Services and Chief of Personnel at NHQ. Prior to his current assignment, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy at Naval Headquarters.
