Greene says Trump told her if her ‘son were to get killed,’ it would be her fault

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said in a recent podcast that she received a “rude” response when she texted President Trump about receiving death threats against her and her family after resigning from Congress.

Greene said:Piers Morgan UncensoredOn Wednesday, the homeowner said he reached out to FBI Director Kash Patel and other senior Trump administration officials after threats against him “escalated” to one of his children.

“And I was very upset about the death threats against my children because of him,” she said in the episode, claiming that some of those warnings echoed Trump’s own words, including labeling him a “traitor.”

“I am not a traitor to my country. Standing with rape victims does not make me a traitor,” Greene added, citing her support for victims of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and her pressure on the Justice Department to release files on the case.

The former MP said he warned the president about the threats he had received, but he “showed no mercy whatsoever.” According to Greene, this was the last time the two spoke.

“What did he tell you?” Morgan pressed.

“He had no compassion for the death threats against my children. He basically blamed me, saying if my son was killed, it would be my fault,” the Georgia Republican replied, appearing to leave Morgan stunned.

Greene said she felt like the speech was “the nail in the coffin” when it came to her impression of Trump.

“Some of my greatest political enemies would never tell me that,” he defended. “Democrats with whom I had disagreements in Congress would never say that to me. No one ever said those things to me.”

“I don’t know what kind of person would not have compassion or concern for someone’s child being threatened to be killed. It’s just unimaginable,” Greene added.

In a statement to The Hill, the White House called Greene “a quitter who pathetically tries to stay relevant by appearing on liberal media shows to attack President Trump.”

“Unfortunately, Trump Derangement Syndrome has rotted former Congresswoman Greene’s peanut-sized brain,” spokesman Davis Ingle said.

Greene’s once-close relationship with the president began to sour in late 2025, when she criticized his administration’s handling of the Epstein files and his approach to domestic issues such as affordability and health care.

Her public controversy exploded in November when Trump withdrew his support and called Greene a “raging lunatic,” among other derogatory remarks. He then decided to resign early from Parliament.

Since then, the former MAGA ally has become an outspoken opponent of the US military operation in Iran and Trump’s rhetoric surrounding the conflict, arguing that the decision to launch a joint attack on Tehran was a “betrayal” of his 2024 campaign promises.

Last week, he called for the 25th Amendment removal of Trump, who has threatened to escalate the conflict by attacking civilian infrastructure if Tehran does not come to the negotiating table.

Greene told Morgan on the podcast that she thought the expulsions were “extremely unlikely” to happen and argued that Republicans were “serving Donald Trump as if he were some kind of cult leader.”

“I don’t know how anyone who says things like the president is destroying an entire civilization can’t be opposed, especially by anyone in the administration or by any Republican serving in the House or the Senate who calls themselves a Christian,” he said.

“They need to call this out. There’s a reluctance on the part of everyone in the administration and in Congress to challenge the President when he says these things and also to say that we need to examine what his mental state is,” Greene added.
