Guy Pearce and Annie Lennox join call to end ‘normalised horror’ for children in Gaza | Gaza

Guy Pearce, Annie Lennox and Vanessa Redgrave are among the celebrities who want to end the “normalized fear” of children killed in Gaza as part of the new short film.
Published by Save The Children and Seç Love, it contains stars that read words to a poem of Michael Rosen. The poem, titled Children, was written in 2014 in response to a Guardian article that prohibits a radio advertising calling the children killed in Gaza about the Israeli government. Starts:
Don’t talk about children.
Do not name dead children.
People must not know their names
dead children.
“When I first read Michael Rosen’s poem, I didn’t just move deeply, I was shocked,” Pearce said to The Guardian.
“Rosen’s brutal commandments directly look at our souls and forced us to erase a child, to face the persecution of their names, memories and life.“
Actors Ambika Mod, Joely Richardson, Juliet Stevenson, Denise Gough, Khalid Abdalla, Zawe Ashton and Download; Presentumists Laura Whitmore and Nadia Sawalha, Model Hashhaş Delevingne, Emergency Doctor Dr Ma Mustafa, activist Stephen Kapos and Creator of Poetry Michael Rosen.
The project was matched with renewed calls by Save The Children, and chose the love of the British government to end the complexity of the horror in Gaza and West Bank ”..
They call the public to sign petition “Immediate suspension of all weapons transfers to Israel, the calculation of all perpetrators and a decisive action to end Israel’s invasion of Palestinian territory”.
Pearce, “We’ve all seen the destructive images of the children in Gaza, but over time a dangerous insensitivity – people look far or perpetrators or this criminal partner rightly ignored pain,” he said. “The simplicity of this poem does not allow this escape.”
“It was a matter of conscience for me to take part in this recital. Every day in Gaza, children are killed, injured or left hungry – they are trapped in a nightmare they do not do anything to create a nightmare. We cannot allow this fear to normalize. Everyone’s speech and the complexity of silence.”
According to health officials in Gaza, at least 20,000 children have been killed in Gaza since October 2023, but independent research shows that the figure is much higher. Misan Harriman, the photographer and Oscar -nominated director who pioneered the film project, said that the children in Gaza have ended a ruthless flow of persecution ”for nearly two years.
“Houses, schools and hospitals were destroyed, the deliberate use of hunger as a weapon. And still the world does nothing to stop it,” he said.
Save The Children has been working in Gaza for decades, running primary health centers and providing basic services, including screening and treatment for malnutrition. However, the charity organization said that he had not been able to get his own help since March 2.
Rosen said: “In response to the attempt to silence the names of children killed in Gaza, I am not talking about children 11 years ago. The fact that poetry is still very relevant today – in fact, the situation for children is just getting worse.
“Behind each number is a child with a stolen name and future.
