H is for Hawk film review: Helen Macdonald memoir comes to the big screen | The Canberra Times

His friend Stuart (Sam Spruell), an expert on these types of birds, helps with the initial training and care of the bird, which he names Mabel. In the end, Helen is able to handle this job on her own, but Mabel is no cute meat-eating pet on the roost: the goshawk, as Stuart puts it, is a perfectly developed psychopath who should be allowed to hunt and kill (sensitive animal lovers be warned).
