Hannity Awkwardly Tells DeSantis, ‘I Didn’t Know That It Was Legal to Marry a First Cousin’ in Florida

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity He told the Governor oddly. Ron DeSantis (R) said Tuesday that Florida’s governor “didn’t know it was legal to marry his first cousin.”
DeSantis joined Hannity discuss a topic new florida law It allows him and other state officials to designate certain groups as terrorist organizations to fight against the governor’s orders. Press release It is about legislation called “enforcement of foreign and religious laws, including sharia law, that violate constitutional rights.”
Following the bill’s signing on Monday, DeSantis also persistently State lawmakers will ban marriage between first cousins Florida. Hannity asked the governor about his situation push to end the practice, leading to an incredibly awkward exchange between the two.
HANNITY: This week, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is urging state lawmakers to ban first cousin marriages; It’s a practice that’s surprisingly still legal and has ties to what he calls “secret jihad,” and he also signed a law giving him and other state leaders the power to designate groups as terrorist organizations. There are more governors here, the governor of my free state of Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis. Dear Governor, I’m glad to see you. Maybe I’m a little ignorant here. I didn’t know it was legal to marry a first cousin.
DESANTIS: In many states, it’s not. Florida needs to get on board with this. Frankly, this is part of the culture that goes against American values, and it’s something we’ll deal with one way or another. But when it comes to the broader issue of Islamist groups not being allowed to take public money from things in Florida, whether it’s education or other things we do, you have to draw a very clear red line, and the red line I draw is we’re going to spend millions on public safety, millions on education, but we’re not going to spend a dime on jihad. Therefore, we need to identify the groups that support these organizations. And they may not be personally committing attacks, but if they’re funding them to provide material support, you know, that’s something that our government needs to recognize and act appropriately, and there’s a ban on any use of sharia law in the legislation that I’ve introduced, not just at the state level. We don’t want to be like Europe, where there are no go zones, little subcultures where these things are imposed. This is now completely off the table in Florida.
