Harry Kane Becomes England’s All-Time World Cup Leading Goal-Scorer

East Rutherford: Harry Kane emerged from an invisible first half to become England’s all-time top scorer in the World Cup.

Kane scored his 11th career World Cup goal against Panama on Sunday, breaking the tie with Gary Lineker in the 67th minute. He left Andres Andrade behind and put England ahead 2-0 with the ball passing over goalkeeper Orlando Camira.

This was Kane’s 82nd international goal for England, adding to his own record. After scoring two goals in the opening match against Croatia on 17 June, Kane scored three goals in this tournament as they advanced to the knockout stages.

Kane, who turns 33 next month, scored at least 10 goals in the first 45 minutes against Panama as England’s pressure to win their group increased. Jude Bellingham got England on the board a few minutes earlier, slotting in a pass that Kane buried into the goal.
